This is a percentage of the fare applicable to flights within the continental U.S. or within the 225-mile buffer zones of Canada/Mexico and is prorated for flights between the continental U.S. and Alaska/Hawaii based on the transportation mileage in continental U.S. airspace.

This fee is $5.60 for each one-way trip starting at a U.S. airport and $11.20 for round-trips; it may accumulate multiple times for itineraries that include stopovers.
